Affiliate Disclosure
Short version: CryptoTaxCalc is free to use. Some links to crypto tax software are affiliate links — if you subscribe through them, we earn a commission at no additional cost to you. It never changes the numbers our calculators show.
Which partners do we work with?
We currently maintain affiliate relationships with two crypto tax software providers:
- CoinLedger — strongest option for US filers; generates Form 8949 and Schedule D and integrates with TurboTax and H&R Block. Links go through our CoinLedger redirect.
- Koinly — broadest country support (US, UK, Germany, Canada, Australia and 20+ other countries) with country-specific tax methods. Links go through our Koinly redirect.
We do not run paid placements for crypto exchanges, and we do not accept payment to feature any product. If we add partners in the future, this page will be updated before the links appear.
What the commission means for you
The price you pay is identical whether you use our link or go to the provider directly — the commission comes out of the provider's margin, not your pocket. You are never obligated to click or buy. Both tools offer free accounts; payment is typically only required when you download a final tax report.
How we choose what to recommend
- Fit first. We only list tools whose function matches the page: tax-reporting software next to tax calculations and filing guides — never unrelated products.
- Country-accurate. US-focused pages prioritize US-capable software; international pages prioritize multi-country providers. We never present a US-only tool as suitable for a German or Australian filing.
- Independent math. Our calculators are open source and run locally; partner relationships have no influence on rates, formulas, or the results you see.
- Factual claims only. Descriptions stick to each provider's documented features (supported exchanges, generated forms, country coverage) and are updated when features change.
How affiliate links are marked
Partner links appear inside clearly labelled "Sponsored" sections and carry the technical attributes rel="sponsored nofollow noopener" and open in a new tab, in line with Google's sponsored-link guidance and our partners' program terms (CoinLedger's terms specifically require rel="nofollow"). Clicks are counted as anonymous affiliate_click events in Google Analytics so we can see which placements help; no financial inputs are ever attached.
Your choices
- You can ignore every sponsored section — all calculators and articles remain fully usable.
- You can visit the providers directly by typing their URL, bypassing the affiliate link entirely.
- You can block analytics with an ad blocker; nothing on the site depends on it.
